Loaded Marketing Blog Posts, Just Plain Dangerous

Key Word Filler

It’s a glaring bit of reality that most – AND I DO MEAN MOST – blogs on this InterWeb Highway exist only to direct you to links intended to help their owners profit somehow. I’m not quite sure what makes the technology tick on these things, but when I am researching one topic or another for valid reasons entirely my own, I am disproportionately directed to web sites that make no sense whatsoever. These are “robo-sites” that have been culled by a computer program in order to appear original, or compiled by some worker in a far-off land who may or may not have an actual grasp of the language in which the web page is “written.”

You might even see a random list of keywords inserted for no obvious reason. Here is one such list, carefully designed for potential links.

  • freestyle skis
  • briantracy.com
  • baby baskets
  • logo design service
  • poker chip set
  • placebo poster
  • Jabra sp5050 bluetooth speakerphone
  • Carter’s keep me dry waterproof fitted quilted crib pad
  • Phillips apparel
  • ink toner
  • small business online marketing services

To be quite honest, I am not even sure what all of those phrases mean. But I do use various plug-ins that are designed to generate links within my text for the sole purpose of monetizing this blog. Which is entirely why, as a reader, you should be at least the slightest bit wary about any web site that you go to for information.

Granted, this blog is largely based upon my own subjectivity. And while my certain perspective is one which ought to be held in high esteem, it is nonetheless still appropriate that you read for context – even as you visit “trusted sites,” you must be aware of the author’s intent.

My intent here is to show that mentioning bluetooth headsets or baby items (whether crib pads or bassinets) or even something as obtuse as a placebo poster (which I wish someone would explain to me), is not only potentially profitable, but also that it can be the basis of an interesting experiment in terms of either the why or how of creating outside l-i-n-k-s to potential resources, online stores or whatnot.

I can see that Brian Tracy offers some sort of coaching for business strategies or public speaking or something, and there might be a valid connection to logo design services if this “article” were to come up in a search engine. Even the ink toner reference might make the visit worthwhile for an unsuspecting reader doing some business research.

I’ll hope so, at any rate, just in case.
